Intumescent and Cementatious Vermiculite Fireproofing

Intumescent vs Cementatious Vermiculite
Both intumescent and cementatious vermiculite are passive fire rated coating for steel protection.

The intumescent paint is a thin film coating that closely resembles normal paint. It is normally provided with a top coat colour. Therefore the finishing colour can be selected to blend in with the building architectural design or interior furnishing design concept.

The cementatious vermiculite is a light weight texture spray. The lighter weight coating is better, as it has less loading onto the building structures. It is normally in concrete cement grey colour. Using cementatious vermiculite coating is a low cost fire protection as compared to intumescent.

The intumescent and cementatious vermiculites are used in commercial, industrial, residential, pharmaceutical, as well as petrochemical industries.
